Pulau Ubin w the prick Part 1 // 160215
So exactly 10 days ago, I woke up super early (almost as early as I woke up for school) to head to pulau ubin with Girvan :-) I've been wanting to visit that island because the last time I went was about 8-10 years ago? it would be interesting to head to an island with someone you love & explore the flora and fauna together!!!
So we went to Changi jetty to take a bumper boat to Pulau Ubin. It was raining so heavily that morning so we sat at the Changi Village coffee shop to eat bfast first haha. Stubborn and insistent me then went on to be annoying and tell Girvan, " can we pls just try going it's only 2.50$ for the boat ride!!! pls pls pls *inserts puppy eyes* " HAHAHA. So he technically had no choice but to say yes :p I'm an ass hehe.
Here are some pictures of when we were on the boat! :-) Finally remembered to bring my selfie stick for that day's date ^^
it was really raining quite heavily if you can see from this picture :-(
Oh btw, you'll have to wait till 12 passengers fill the boat before they would leave. But I think we were kind of lucky cuz there were workers and they were rushing for time to get on the island (I think). So they paid the other 6 passengers fee for us :') so we left Sjngapore with only 6 passengers on board ^^
The boat ride wasn't too bad considering that I've been on a 7-8 hours boat ride in San Francisco just to see whales.... (I only saw their blowholes ha ha) and puked non-stop after 30 minutes on the boat. Okay back to the main story, it wasn't that bad :-) approx 15-20 minutes later, we arrived @ Pulau Ubin!!!!!!!!!
Rented two mountain bikes for 8$/day! They had bikes for 5$/day but it wasn't mountain bikes. Highly recommended to get mountain bikes if y'all are going to explore the whole island like us :-) Because the 5$ bikes.... won't last the ride honestly HAHA. We then headed off yay!!! oh right, we got ponchos for 2$ too. I'll talk about my epic story later in the post sigh HA HA.
Someone pls make a wise guess as to why we are at the same place but one picture is us with ponchos and one isn't. I don't know if you guessed right but ya.. once we wore our ponchos, the rain stopped. how unlucky.... but it's okay I've the lucky one with me :-)
We were at the lotus pond or something I think!! We then continued cycling :-) Oh, the bicycle uncle was really nice. He provided us with a map!
There were so many mosquitos!!! So be prepared with super loads of mosquito repellent if you're planning to explore the whole island. I only brought six patches of the insect repellent sticker thingy :-(
I'm so blessed with a patient photographer because... @ places with greenery, I feel like it's the best to take photos :')
There were super many up slopes but the good thing is after the up slopes, it'll be a down slope (95% of the time) so you kinda look forward to the downslope :-) After we crossed this bridge, honestly I've no idea where we were. we just cycled.... then we finally arrived at the Pulau Ubin must go location - Chek Jawa Wetlands Reserve! :-) There will be a part 2 to this because.... it's just too long & too many pictures :p I shall end here :-) See y'all soon!
With love,
Pru :-)
