Taiwan Day 1 - Wufenpu & Raohe Night Market
Day 0.5
We took the midnight flight, operated by Scoot @ 0045. :-) It was the ideal flight because we do not waste a day in Taipei. So super excited!!! We departed from Changi Airport's Terminal 2 ☺️ Here are some pictures!
We reached Taipei's Taoyuan Airport Terminal 1 @ 515! Which is 10 minutes earlier than our scheduled timing ☺️👍 We headed to collect our portable wifi (from the iVideo website) and I highly do not recommend it. It started our journey on a very horrible note because I was supposed to collect it from the Hi-Life store located @ B1. When I went there, the staff there couldn't find my package. I insisted and told him we booked the portable wifi almost a month ago. He scolded us and said something along the lines of "Where got people book one month earlier one. They at most book a week ago" Like what even? Step up your service game really. How has it became our fault that we booked it 'too' early when on the website, it just states that we have to book the portable wifi >5 days before we arrive. The other reviews I read were positive but well, here's a negative one.
Our first day was practically a misfortunate day. I assumed that we'd spend some time @ the airport and told the Airbnb tenant to meet at 9AM. But well, we were early but she was late by 15 minutes... And the best thing was, the first floor of the apartment we booked were infested with cockroaches. Oh gosh. Next best thing was, I had to catch a cockroach in our apartment. But to be honest, the apartment is decorated really nicely. However, it's slightly on the dusty side and the sofa is really dirty. Will upload pictures of the apartment etc.

I guess the series of unfortunate events ends here. HAHA. We then headed out and went to Wufenpu wholesale garment market. That place is huge oh my. It is really like Singapore's Bugis Street. Just bigger and slightly more interesting because they do not really sell repetitive clothes (like Bugis). As for price wise, you really need to look through as many shops as possible before settling with something that is worth the money for the material purchased. It wasn't as cheap as I expected and the style of clothing were a little towards the older side. But I still managed to find something :-)

We spent quite a lot of time there as it was interesting for three out of four of us, but boring for poh cause' she hates shopping HAHA. She's a rare gem. But anyway, after Wufenpu, we headed to Raohe Night Market.
Super happy because I got to eat my favourite smelly tofu!!! (it's a must try really) We ate 臭豆腐，炸鲜奶 and sweet potato balls? (which tasted heavenly w lots of plum powder, surprisingly) The night market is filled with a variety of shops, mainly food & clothing though! Night markets are a must go in Taiwan. Oh right, adding on, try out the night market game stalls although to be honest, some are extremely difficult to play and win. So choose your game carefully!

Feels to blog :-)
I'm having the feels to blog tonight so I'm going to satisfy the feels. (Don't even think this sounds like proper English but ok) So I've not been blogging on a daily or weekly basis but I'll try. Since I would have more free time on hand now cause' the LOML just enlisted today :(On a separate and happier note, all the three universities I applied for replied me!!! Yay! But it's so difficult and gives me a headache cause' I really don't have any idea what I want to pursue. I'm okay with all the courses they offer me so if anyone has any clue, please text me or twitter dm/mention me etc okay!!! I'm going to list down the course offered by the respective universities.
NUS - Biomedical Engineering
NTU - Biological sciences with a minor in business
SMU - Business management
So if anyone has any information please please save me because I'm in a really huge dilemma right now :-(
I'll be going on two separate overseas trips this month and I'm so excited! :-) One is to Hong Kong, and the other is to Taiwan. The trip to Taiwan would be with just my friends and I'm really very extremely excited for that. I'm going to be bringing my laptop to Taiwan so hopefully, I'd be able to blog about the things there :-) We're going for 7D6N.
Recently went to the Zoo with G before he enlisted and was so happy it didn't rain until we were on the bus, on the way back home :-) The last time I went, it rained :( So maybe, it's a good sign hehe. Also, the lion enclosures were under renovation so no lions for us boo. But the weather was not too bad. It was hot, but not the scorching hot sun, so it was still manageable. I had so much fun!!! And also bought my Mother's day present there and my Father's birthday present. Wow, killing two birds with one stone. HAHA.
#majorthrowback to the days that I spent with Girvan, almost everyday, studying either at school, airport, or national library. Miss those days cause' it means doing the most horrible thing with the most lovable person. HAHA. Honestly feel that doing shitty things with someone you love alleviates the shitty-ness of the whole entire thing itself. (or is it just me?)
Honestly missing this qtpie in the picture quite a bit right now. Hope he'll be alright :)

Thankful. (dedicated to my bf)
Love is when your boyfriend wakes up at 645AM when he slept at 230AM just to accompany you on the journey for interview because you're nervous as fak.
Love is when your boyfriend asks for your opinion on the clothes he's going to buy just because he values your opinion.
Life has been mundane so far but nothing short of fun because I've actually got to spend time with precious people in my life such as my family (going on the Japan trip) and my bf :-)
Totally not looking forward to when G goes to the army because boo I'm overly attached and I admit that :-( So I've decided to bury myself with work so that I'd be busy enough so I won't miss him so much HA HA HA.
Something I've learnt is 'Don't do onto others what you don't want others to do onto you' It might have been a little too late to actually deeply feel the meaning of this phrase but yes, better late than never right?
Went out with G to town to shop that day after my interview with SMU! Phew it was nerve-wrecking. After meeting G, met HAPSY (Hweejing Athena Prudence Sophia Yingyi) where Sophia was missing boo, for dinner. T'was a good day!
Okay, will update more often hopefully.

Pulau Ubin Part 3 // 100315
bFinally!!! Part 3 :-) Hoping to end the Pulau Ubin blogposts within this one post because wow, 3 parts is really too long. On a side note, I'm travelling to Japan in March soon with the fambamz! :-) I'm actually quite excited because I want to do a travel log (is that what they call it?) But put in simpler terms, I'll be blogging while in Japan (Day 1, day 2 etc.) Super looking forward to the trip :') But the thought of receiving results on 2 of March kills me mentally.... How do people cope with that? Okay that's a topic for another day. For now... PULAU UBIN!!!So basically I stopped at the bird watching tower. After we came down from the bird watching tower which was scenic as you could see from the previous pictures, the we went back to the entrance to get our bikes and chanced upon this nice place that has the view of the sea??? Here are some pictures :-)
Okay don't worry Girvan didn't put his legs in and neither did I because as you can see, the water is quite dirty HAHA. But it was good view tho :')
It had another road leading to coconut drinks (as said by a signage) but there were big dogs there so we turned back. Then we can across another bridge!!! So it's photo taking time again :-)
Solo picture of me as taken by my very patient photographer hehe. Next we reached the biking trail? We literally cycled the whole of Pulau Ubin. I'm not even kidding. Just that maybe the small gravel roads were left out. There were so many greens and places with water. It was so relaxing!!! Here are some more pictures :-)
Be extra careful here!!! Because they have different bike paths for different levels of bikers. The advanced, intermediate and beginners. So do read the panel before embarking on your journey in the bike trail.

Finally concluded our trip to Pulau Ubin!!! We spent like a full day because we woke up early to prepare, we met at about 8? or 9? I forgot and we left Pulau Ubin at 4-5! :-) So do give yourself ample time to visit and explore this wonderful island :-)

Monotonous & Vday post! // 020315
Life has been rather monotonous lately. Maybe monotonous isn't really the right word but more of a routine lifestyle? I'm currently jobless so I've a lot of free time on my hands :-) So basically, just an update, G and I got matching shoes yay! Pictures ahead! Initially I suggested getting Nike Roshe (which is kinda the trend now). But he said it was too normal so we got Sperry Boat shoes :-) I got the Men's style shoes because the women's one was way too girly for me (with leopard prints and polka dots etc. )
As Valentine is also this pig's birthday, I baked a cake for him!! (don't think it was too nice but it's okay right) HAHA. it's the thought that counts!!! :-) By the way, the tracks are a great place for pictures! just remember a tripod or have a self timer camera with you :-)

Pulau Ubin Part 2 // 240215
Chinese New Year is finally here!!! Anyway, that explains why I continued part 2 so late... But I finally moved my lazy ass to blog this post :-)
Basically, a continuation from part 1, was that we were cycling go Chek Jawa and came across a pretty bridge so we just dismounted our bike to take pictures hahaha :p We cycled and cycled and cycled and cycled...... Finally!!! We were @ Chek Jawa Wetlands! :-)
So bicycles were not allowed to enter because the floorings (for the broad walk) are made of wood so they are afraid the bikes would damage it. They do provide bicycle parking at the entrance :-) I read online before heading there that we need locks to secure the bikes for fear of thefts yknw. However, when we reached, the bicycle uncle assured us that "no one would want to steal" and set us off without bicycle locks. And indeed, he wasn't wrong :-) Nobody stole our bikes!

The photos were all taken before we entered Chek Jawa Wetlands! The most recent photo is the entrance :-)
We then decided to walk towards the broad walk first, giving the bird watching tower a miss and saving it for the last.

So these were all the pictures taken on the broad walk. If I wasn't wrong, it was high tide and we couldn't see the mangroves and all the animals people raved about. We saw many crabs though! and mudskippers :-) Do check the tide level before heading there! So basically, without mangroves, we jus became the center of attraction and kept taking photos of ourselves :-) The broad walk is made of wood as you can see, and is really a prime location for photos! Because of good lighting (aka sunlight) so yes, take lots of pictures! :-)
After the broad walk, we went to the bird watching tower. There were several series of steps we had to climb to reach to the top but trust me, the hard work and sweat is totally worth it! Photo spam ahead (AGAIN)
We bought food (bread) before we headed there and consumed them on the bird watching tower :-) Y'all can do that too! It's quite a good place to stop and rest & take a break :-) There are so many more places we went so I guess this post shall stop here because it is getting a little lengthy :p So... stay around for part 3! :-)
